West of England Women’s Commission unveils its action plan
Following a successful Women’s Summit in 2025, the West of England Women’s Commission has unveiled its action plan for 2026.
The plan, shared in full on the website not only features the ambitions of the commission as a whole but drills down into the individual aciton plans from the Task Groups.
These cover five important areas to help women across the region thrive in line with the West of England Mayor Helen Godwin’s priority for West women and girls.
From Tackling Misogyny to Women’s Health, Women and the Economy to Higher and Further Education, and Women and Transport - the scope of this work is wide, and deep.
The activity and aims outlined in the action plans will be the focus of the Task Groups, and Commission as a whole throughout 2026 and beyond and help give focus to the work.
There will be check-ins against progress during the Commission’s bi-monthly meetings, and we’ll be sharing updates on this website where relevant.
West of England Women’s Commission Chair Penny Gane said: “This is a significant moment for the new West of England Women’s Commission as we really drive forward the work needed to help women across the region to thrive.”
